Death by Algorithm is about staying up to date with the music scene, without succumbing to automated, lifeless, and bland methods of music curation. We’re putting humanity back into music discovery.
I listen to way too much music. I listen to artists I like, I listen to the artists those artists are listening to, I listen to artists my friends are listening to, I listen to music my friends are making, I listen to random artists I come across with less than 100 followers. I listen to it all, then I take everything I listen to, and put my favorites in this newsletter. Everything is hand picked and curated with love, by me. Think of it like your school crush making you a mixtape (yes, if you subscribe to this, I love you).
Most often I send out posts titled “What I’ve Been Listening To” highlighting 8 projects, 1 song, and 1 music video that have been on repeat for me recently. These posts are published every other Wednesday. In addition to that I post interviews, long-form articles, end of year lists, random collections of songs I like, and whatever else comes to mind and feels relevant.
I’m know that if you subscribe, you’ll find new music you like very quickly. You might even find the next big thing, or your new favorite artist. Then when the algorithm eventually catches on, you can say you were there first. The goal is to put you on to new music I think you’ll love. The goal is to disrupt the music industry by putting music (and the people that make it) first.
